ATS(Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) establishes KS by consensus in the Korean Industrial Standards Council (KISC). ATS reviews KS every 5 years for confirmation, revision or withdrawal depending on the needs of the industry. ATS may take appropriate actions regarding KS within that 5-year period, when necessary, to ensure harmonization with international standards or to facilitate the development of new technologies. Standardization activities are focused on new business fields like information technology, environment and recycling to keep up with technological progress.
